Who am I?

I am simply a church boy at heart, raised on the south side of Chicago surrounded by love from my mom, my family and my church, where I learned to play drums and found my love for Jesus Christ and a love of music.

I can remember walking the streets of Chicago as the sounds of rhythm and blues (Al Green, BB King, Jackson 5) heard through tavern doors mixed harmoniously with the sound of Gospel music (The Winans, Take 6) coming from the storefront churches on almost every other corner. Added to those was the constant thump of Chicago’s own house music (Farley Funkin Keith, Ricky Dillard). Those sounds were absorbed into my very being and became a part of me. I grew up dancing with my mom to artists like James Brown, The Jackson Five, Parliament Funkadelic, The Gap Band, Morris Day and the Time and Prince.

In today’s music I take inspiration from talented artists such as J Moss, Dietrick Haddon and Fred Hammond.

My prayer

I pray for our nation, our teachers, healthcare workers, our military, and I pray for all of you. May God continue to bless and keep you. We all have ups and downs in this life and it is important that we continue to grow, learn and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ - our Lord and our savior while showing love for one another as Christ loves us.

I am here to share my personal story and my love of Christ with you.

My causes

I want us to stand together, united in love as I pray for some things very close to my heart.

Depression is a serious concern. I will share that I myself have been fortunate to have the love and support of family and friends, especially by way of social media connections. I am blessed that I am surrounded by Christ rooted loved ones who have helped me hold it together in my weakest moments and I love you all. I will continue to use this platform to help those of us (all of us) when we feel we can’t go on.

Secondly, Type 1 Diabetes is a monster that we rarely hear about, yet it affects millions of Americans and billions of people around the world. I have had T1D for more than 25 years and it is not caused by diet, lack of exercise or genetics. It is secondary to an attack on the immune system which causes the pancreas to stop making insulin, unlike Type 2 Diabetes which can be caused by lifestyle, diet, exercise, etc. and can be controlled as well by making modifications. However, God has still given me a great life and health all things considered and I want to share with those who are experiencing similar medical issues in your life. We are in this journey together.

THE ONE

Jesus is The One. the Holy Scriptures states “Look, He is coming with the clouds and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. “ I AM the Alpha and Omega, says the Lord God, “Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the ALMIGHTY” Revelations 1:7

I am here to celebrate Jesus and to celebrate our relationship with him in this music project. Therefore I have titled this project The One. It is a collection of banging tracks which I want you to listen to and enjoy. Feel free to turn up and enjoy the worship experience with me thru these songs.

  This music is a collection of my songs that are intended to deliver a message of encouragement and empowerment thru Jesus Christ. They are reflective of my personal story and testimony. I believe that you, the listener, can find connection to your own personal journey in my story.

I want you to boldly stand for righteousness, especially in trying times such as these when our faith is being tested.

Last but not least, these songs remind us of the promise we hold as believers, of reaching the beautiful reward of Heaven, where we shall see our loved ones who have gone before and finally see our savior’s face. He is THE ONE, The first and the last, alpha and omega, The One who is able to keep us from falling and the author and finisher of our faith.
