If God exists and He Loves Us, Why is there so much Evil in the World?

The presence of evil is proof that God exists, we must have a standard of what is right and what is wrong, otherwise, we rely on our differing opinions which can all be argued as good. Fortunately, we have the standard which is God.

There must be a standard above our own of what is good or evil.

Jeremiah 31:33 It is written in our hearts, what is good and what is evil

Morals cannot be explained by evolution as explained by atheists. For example, rape cannot be considered a good thing because we are helping to populate the earth (which is a good thing). Murder is not good even when we think it is for a good cause as Hitler believed.

Goodness is God’s nature. God is good.

Rape performed “because the perpetrator says he loves the victim” is not good, although love is good. God provides the standard of good.

The reason that we have evil is a result of our free-will, which God gave. God commands our supplication, yet he gives us the ability to choose. Our choices are for either good, which is God, or for evil which is void of or in rebellion to God. Therefore, we cannot base what is good on the outcome of our actions because what we consider to be a good result can result from evil acts. Therefore, we cannot base what is good on relativism.

Many try to find happiness in wealth and the accomplishment of materialistic goals, but they still find that they lack the peace that they seek. We can only find true peace and fulfillment in a relationship with God. In that relationship, we know that we will experience what the world will consider bad things, such as the loss of a job, a bad relationship, the death of parents or loved ones, natural disasters, mass shootings, and morality conflicts. We will experience and witness all these things, however, as Christians with our focus, our compass being God, and our faith in Him, we will overcome the world through Christ Jesus who lived and died for the redemption of our sins.
